Most of the hands at this table were heads-up. At the river heads-up the pot would be approximately $87.00 which was the average pot. (not accounting for any rake taken out). Split pot would be $43.50 per hand, of course. I was stoked to catch this hand for a scoop with so many players. It was the first hand that I played for this particular session. I was dealt 10 hands previous to this one which were folded.

Sixth street was awesome. I thought I'd never get a chance to raise. Everyone kept checking to me. One guy had to raise all-in. It was my one opportunity to re-raise during the hand. I should have raised my draw on fourth since I was in position to and still keep everyone in.

This was a sweet pot... )

Unfortunately, the table broke down rather quickly as 3 of the players were severely underfunded and two other players were sitting out. I would have loved to sit there for a bit longer than I did. It isn't too often that a 5/10 stud 8 game gets going at this particular cardroom.

Long Time No Update...

Here's a recent hand that I laid down, which made me grumble a bit. I should have raised, however, three hands in a row before this hand I was badly beaten and was getting frustrated.

QQ too under played... )

It's too bad that I didn't save the hand history from the next two hands. Now these were a knee to the proverbial nut-bag...

I held AKo. Big raise. The person to my left re-raises. Middle calls. I call.
My A hits on the flop. I check, next person goes all-in. The other person calls (short stacked so I figured he had to since there was quite a bit invested in the pot for him).
No straights or flushes on the board. I go ahead and call for 3 way all-in action. The cards turn over. My AKo was in the lead vs. 88 and TT.
8 hits on the river.

I didn't wave good-bye just yet. I had pulled chips while that hand was going just in case.

So the next hand...

I go all-in with AQ suited of diamonds. One caller. The cards turn over and the other person shows JT suited of diamonds.

Flop comes 4d 9d Ah. (Yay me!) Outs to the nut flush, and top pair.

Turn comes Qc. Yay me. Top two pair.

River comes Ks. The other dude who called my all-in bet hit his runner runner cards for a straight.

And that did it for me for the night...Six in a row with nice starters was just too much.

One of those hands that had some monster raising going on. I was lucky nobody caught an A or a K or I woulda been sucked out on REALLY bad.

Normally I would have dropped this with the 2 7s already out, but the draw was so nice. Ugh.

Hand history: 6s full of 7s VS 7s full of 6s VS a straight. )

Hand history for micro limit stud hi, short-handed.

Unfortunately, the only stud table open at this online card room at the time was a micro limit table. I was up against players at this table that didn't like to fold their hands, so it made for some nice wins for the limit I was at.

Quads were rampant at the table. Within 20 hands three of them held quads to my amazement. I was lucky to get away from those hands. Rolled up trips were all over the place earlier in the game as well, separate from the players who were catching quads.

Hand History; Aggressive Split Aces )

It certainly wasn't the best hand of my session. I managed to be in betting position on a flush with all callers around the table. I slow-played the flush by checking to the 'call 'em all' player knowing he would bet. He rarely ever checked and rarely ever folded, so I was able to make a check-raise on the street of that hand with the rest of the table calling behind me.

On another hand I did manage to catch a fifth street flush against a fifth street straight with four players in the hand. A pair of aces on the board bet out. I just called knowing the straight would raise, and he did. Calls came behind him, and I re-raised to add to the pot. All callers behind me.

It was a pretty nice session. I'm only wishing that it was a higher limit table with the same players so the overall profit would have been that much nicer. My win percentage when I left the table was 80%.

After that I headed over to a 3/6 Hold 'em w/Kill table. Got smacked around quite a bit. Every time I hit two pair a bigger two-pair crushed my hand. Pocket pairs didn't pan out for me, flushes didn't hit. One hand I hit a straight on the turn just to be beaten by a flush. I held AKos in one hand and that didn't work out either. UGH.

A person that frequents one of the forums I go to just started playing poker. He hangs out at the micro limit tables so I thought I would have a quick seat and check out how the game was going. I'm not used to the micro limits anymore so I didn't know how loose or tight it would be. Surprisingly it was a pretty tight table.

I took a nasty beat that I didn't see coming. He played it very very well. I ended up getting myself stuck in the hand.

Three way action:
I limped in with JTos on the sB and my Jack hit both the flop and the turn for trips...
The other player in the hand has AK and flops his K sticking him in the hand as well.
The person from the forum...I had no clue what he was holding in his hand until the showdown. I put him on AJ.

See the hand history here )

Once again, nicely played. I believe the average pot at the table was about 2.50 or 3.00, and this pot was 8.35 for a nice profit for robxxxrob! Congrats!

I was at a low limit table just kind of checking out the scene. The table was short-handed. With the following hand, I made a complete bet as the bring-in. By the time it got back to me only one more bet needed to be made to cap everything so...I just went ahead and capped it before seeing the fourth street card since it seemed everyone would be staying in the hand with those kind of early raises anyhow.

StudStrategy re-raises to $8. wsxxx112 calls.
Jxxxayne calls. rayme calls.

4th street:

StudStrategy: 2s 2h 2c Ts
wsxxx112: -- -- 4d 7d

to $4.
wsxxx112 re-raises to $6. Jxxxayne calls.
raxxe folds. StudStrategy re-raises to $8. wsxxx112
calls. Jxxxayne calls.

Note: With two hands showing fourth street flushes here, I raised against the person who bet hoping to fold down any other draws. Since it was re-raised again before it got to me, at this point I just pretty much said F--- it and just took it to the cap again. Ugh. At this point everyone seemed to be stuck.

5th street:

Jxxxayne: -- -- 5d Ac 4s
StudStrategy: 2s 2h 2c Ts 8h
wsxxx112: -- -- 4d 7d Qc

Jxxxayne bets $4. StudStrategy calls. wsxxx112
calls.

Note: Here I slowed down to just a call in case the A45 was drawing to a straight (34567). My cards were both bricks. It was also a check on where everyone felt they stood with their hands. I also didn't need the A45 to have caught it's third ace if he was raising pocket aces to begin with. UGH!!!

6th street:

Jxxxayne: -- -- 5d Ac 4s 7h
StudStrategy: 2s 2h 2c Ts 8h 9c
wsxxx112: -- -- 4d 7d Qc Js

Jxxxayne bets $4. StudStrategy raises to $8.
wsxxx112 folds. Jxxxayne calls.

Note: Test of hand strength with this raise. Hopefully if he had the 34567 straight he would re-raise over me since the pot was so big by now and I was committed to the river. If he raised over me and I could check-call on the river. He just called which was still a worry.

7th street:

Jxxxayne: -- -- 5d Ac 4s 7h --
StudStrategy: 2s 2h 2c Ts 8h 9c 4h

Jxxxayne checks. StudStrategy checks.

Note: I went ahead and checked the hand thinking that he made his low and there was no need to place a bet for the rake to take. With the check I wasn't worried about the straight at this point. I figured he either had a low or aces up.

Showdown:

Jxxxayne shows As Td 7s 5d Ac 4s 7h.
Jxxxayne has 7s As Ac 7h Td: two pair, aces and sevens (high).
Jxxxayne has no qualifying low hand.
StudStrategy shows 4h 2h 2s 2c Ts 8h 9c.
StudStrategy has 2s 2h 2c Ts 9c: three deuces (high).
StudStrategy has no qualifying low hand.

Hand #432692-312 Summary:

$1.50 is raked from a pot of $87.25.
StudStrategy wins $85.75 with three deuces.
(Average pot: $27.25)

Nice pot! I'm surprised my 2's held up with so much going on by fifth street. Short-handed, odds for tripping on something better than my 2's was very likely as well so I didn't want to push it too terribly hard this time. WHEWWWWWWWW!!!
